In loving memory of Maureen Darcey, we’ve created a wall to honor her and the incredible impact she had on the birthing community. We’re deeply grateful and humbled for the chance to carry forward her legacy in the space she poured so much of her heart into.

Birth at NCBC

North Carolina Birth Center provides Midwifery-led care for the mind and body. Where you can give birth in your unique way.

Our space was designed with comfort in mind, with a sense of serenity that immediately helps you feel at ease. Where your instincts are valued, you are provided the support to move and labor with those you want beside you. NCBC welcomes your support team, whether that's a partner, child, parent, friend, or doula, and others.

Tours

If you are thinking of giving birth at our birth center, the first step is taking our Birth Center Tour!

During the 45–60 minute tour, you'll learn about client eligibility for birth center care, our midwifery-led model , mutual expectations between clients and providers, cost and insurance details, and our safety protocols.

At this time we are able to accept clients with due dates starting in November 2025.

Cost for Care and Insurance

North Carolina Birth Center currently offers Out-of-Network and Self-Pay options. With our recent CABC accreditation, we’re working toward contracts with major insurance providers. Once we have established these contracts, we will announce it via our Website, Newsletter, and Social Media.

Clients are encouraged to check with their insurer about possible coverage. If you are planning to use insurance, we will request to run a Verification of Benefits (VOB) estimate before starting care. More information on Insurance and Cost for Care is provided during the Tours.
