Construction Updates

Construction is complete! There are still punch-list items that we are working on to make our Birth Center the best it can be. For anyone who has dealt with any type of renovation, big or small, you likely know exactly what we’re talking about.

While these punch-list items are being worked on, we are moving in furniture and decorating all corners of our Birth Center. From the colors and themes of the birth suites, to the kitchen chandeliers, and exam room soap dispensers, no stone is being unturned.

This may not be as exciting to you all, but we are thrilled to have internet! Our clinic and birth center will have badge access for ease and safety.

When Will We Open?

The most common question we’ve received is, “When will you open?” While we have our occupancy license and are well into the move-in process, we are still searching for our Director of Midwifery. We need to have one on staff to open and operate as a Free-Standing Birth Center. Once we have found our Director, we can open our doors and join the growing community of quality-care options. One of our key philosophies is that all people deserve access to quality care options.

Dedication and Remembrance

Women’s Birth and Wellness Center (WBWC) was the Birth Center that previously occupied NCBC’s current location. Maureen Darcey, CNM, was the founder of this well-loved and admired birth center. After her passing in 2019, the birth center continued to run until it had to shut its doors in 2022, much to the devastation and heartbreak of the community. Although we are not affiliated with WBWC, we have been beautifully educated and informed about Maureen by her family and friends, and we hope to carry on her legacy. We will soon have more information on how we plan to honor Maureen.
