One-Day Intensive

  • This class is perfect for parents who are planning for unmedicated childbirth, be it their first birth, or first time without epidural pain relief.

    This class is an approachable way to have the basics of birth and coping reviewed in a one-day format.

    This class is great for folks with busy schedules who can only plan to spend one day working through what they need to prepare for unmedicated birth at North Carolina Birth Center.

    This class is great for families who would like usable tools to help cope with the discomfort of early and active labor in their home before moving to their desired birth location.

    This class welcomes discussion, shares information in visual and written formats, and has hands on practice for comfort measures.

    All attendees are welcome to continue to reach out to the instructor should questions arise once class completes.

    Cost is $300

  • Payment is not due at time of registration. An invoice will be sent to the email used for registration. Payment will also be accepted in person for in-person classes. Please come 10 minutes before the start of the class if using this option.

    A great class for first time parents or folks planning their first unmedicated birth. Wear comfortable clothing for moving around in the afternoon. Details for the structure of the day will follow.

Newborn Care and Infant Sleep Class

One-Day Class

  • Ideal for expectant parents who want to feel confident and prepared for life with a newborn. Whether this is your first baby or you’re looking for a refresher, this class focuses on practical skills, realistic expectations, and evidence-based guidance for your baby’s first weeks and months.

    Includes:

    • Newborn characteristics and what to expect in the first week home

    • Realistic expectations for newborn sleep

    • How to soothe and comfort your baby, including swaddling techniques

    • Nursery set-up tips

    • Hands-on practice with diapering, swaddling and soothing, using demo dolls

    • Helpful handouts and resource lists to take home

    • 45 minute virtual postpartum consult to answer your questions once baby arrives

    Cost is $275

    • Registration is for 2 people

Grandparent!

One-Day Class

  • Whether you’re about to become a grandparent for the first time or you’ve been down this road before, this class is perfect for anyone who wants to refresh their newborn care knowledge. You’ll learn what’s changed since your kids were babies and get practical tips for building a strong, positive relationship with the new parents.

    What’s included:

    • The latest newborn safety, sleep, and feeding guidelines

    • Soothing strategies to calm a fussy baby

    • Hands-on practice with diapering, swaddling, and more using realistic demo dolls

    • Tips for supporting without overstepping, including navigating modern parenting trends

    • Opportunities to connect and share with other grandparents

    • Helpful handouts and resource lists to take home

    Cost is $90 of Individual and $150 for Pair

    • You can sign up as an individual grandparent or choose the “couple” option if you’d like to attend with your partner or a friend who will share in your grandparenting journey.

    • This class is designed specifically for expectant grandparents. By keeping the group to grandparents only, we create a comfortable space to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss relationship dynamics with the new parents openly and without worry.
